ERROR: Weapon Menu is only available inside ship?

I'm new to starmade and think its good but theres something I need to know.

I needed to connect my newly installed antimatter cannons to my weapons computer, I learned how to, use T when facing the weapons computer but it comes up with "ERROR: Weapon Menu only available inside ship"

I am inside my ship, I have entered the ship's gravity via gravity unit, and theres no way (that I can see) that you can access the weapons computer or anything else via the ships core. So I don't understand what i'm doing wrong, i'm pretty sure I have connected the cannons up right. This may just be a bug and I under stand that Starmade is an alpha. Can Somebody Help Me.

It sounds like you\'re not in the core when attempting to access the weapons menu. You must be in the ship core in order to access the menu in the first place.
