Okay, is there any way to increase the Y or the top fo a docking zone? My ship is just slightly too tall.

If you want to expand the docking zone, you will need a docking enhancer connected to your docking module.

I have expanded it with the docking enhancer, I actually read things.

I am asking how to increase the Y range of the docking area.

I\'ve yet to really use docking points but.. Have you tried having a few enhencers \"towering\" from the actual pad? If your \"taller ships\" had a shape that allowed it, why not place small towers of enhencers at the corners? I really have no idea if that would extend the thing outwards the same way it does horizontally, but it\'s worth a shot if you haven\'t tried yet, isn\'t it?

Like, from the side it would look like:

Enhancers need to be connected together but you can increase out both in width, length, and depth

This video explains how to use and expand docking ports and should help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdLSn_5Ey4g

I had this problem as well, but I found a solution through experimentation:

you have to place the enhancers below the module to increase the y

Using the picture example of Charlie:

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXMXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    xxx

    x

    x

Is it just me, or is it really difficult to dock a large ship? I don\'t know if its only on servers, but whenever I try to dock a large ship it takes forever to get the docking beam in just the right spot for it to lock on and enter that docking module.

Yes, I know to aim at the actual docking module and not the enhancers, and yes the enhancers have created a large enough space for the ship.

Is it simply a bug or is it just that docking large ships is more difficult?

If hitting the docking module spot-on is difficult, it may be because your cockpit viewpoint is offset from the docking beam\'s origin (the core, I suppose). Try aiming from \"within\" the core, or place a cockpit roughly where the docking beam would usually exit the ship, if that is possible at all with your specific situation (you\'d need to always dock from almost the exact same angle).

If that\'s not your problem, sorry, no idea ;)

Wrong. Enhancers can go anywhere at all so long as the enhancers are all connected. The module does not need to touch them physically, just connected via c.

This is exactly why I have been suggesting having the docking beam connected to the core camera. You\'d be able get directly overhead without pointing your nose at the module. A fix is needed.

Docking height is just as easy to manage as the other two dimensions. Just add some enhancers in the Y direction and you\'ll see your docking area does the same.

Just remember that for every enhancer you add, the docking area gets 2 blocks bigger in that direction, so if you want to park a 10x10x50 ship, for example, you\'ll need a group of enhancers that are 2x2x22 in total dimension.

Each block adds 2 to the dimensions (4x4x44) and the docking area starts as a 7x7x7 box (11x11x51 total docking area).
