Not sure if this has been suggested, and I am fully aware that this has no influence on the way the game plays so on and so fourth, and it is purely austhetic.

But aesthetics never hurt anyone! Let alone ones builds.

    Alright on to my idea:

Decals, you make it first with reguler sized hull in the game. (all thatatters is the color) You then save it (possibly using the copy paste mechanic) you can then pull up another screen (the decal creator screen) on a drop down list click on the name you saved it to. Here you can adjust how many pixels you want each block to represent. (Or if this is difficult just makeing it how many blocks it will be placed on)

    Next: placing the decal:

It can have a corner it will always be placed from such as the lower left or lower right corner. It can be rotated in all directions and applied any where.

I know this is a rough idea but that's why it is here!

If you like the idea by all means hit the like and vice versa, also if you have any suggestions, comments or tweaks feel free to throw them out.

Please, do not get off topic and if you dislike give a valid reason, not "this is stupid."

    Thanks,
    Exodist.

Why not a .png that loads in with your character? Just plaster that .png onto your ship. It'd mean you could only have one decal, but I imagine that vast majority of decals would be faction symbols.

When I saw this suggested I thought you meant battle decals, as in bullet holes and scorch marks and such. You fire at something and a hole appears, etc. That'd be neat too.

I had a similar idea in BR. Personally I would just create a block featuring my Decal. Ideally we have a "Green Screen" cube and wedge that we can then using SMEdit or something and drag a .png .jpeg .bmp into the render window and then put it on the green screen blocks.

If it was a single block img then it could function the same as player models do currently. It wouldnt take long to download that.
