Currently, complex logic systems are needed to achieve basic (and essentially insecure) locks. However, it doesn't prevent faction (or non-faction) members from accessing doors that they normally shouldn't have access too, like, for instance, private rooms or private storage inside of a station.
So, I propose a one block locking/activation block. The block would have some configuration options:
Then we have storage... The texture on these things say "Locked" anyway, so lets add the ability to have passwords assigned to these things as well--and ensure that they can't be accessed the structure's named storage unless the person has build permissions on the structure-- with the one exception on ships, until ships can have a single owner and lock out faction members from entering them.
So, I propose a one block locking/activation block. The block would have some configuration options:
- 1-16 digit password
- Alternate 1-16 digit master password, which allows resetting the existing password by those that normally wouldn't have edit permissions on the structure.
- Selectable default state (either active "on", or inactive/"off"-- door locks would want to have a default state of "on")
- Time delay in which the non-default signal should remain active after entering in the correct password (4-120 seconds, or "pulse" only if it's connected to a logic block and not a door) to keep doors open long enough for a player to walk through.
