    Hello,

I am making a relatively huge ship. Just as a "for kicks" feature i would love to add cloaking and jamming to the ship. I know that 1 cloaker will cost 100e/sec per block and 1 jammer will cost 50e/sec per block. My question is will pattering them together in specific patterns ( lines, arrays, blocks, L's or T's, etc.) reduce the amount of e/sec per block for either? If so which one is the most effecient? How much reduction?

I know this may be a hard question. This is mainly intended for the creator/implementer of the game to answer, but if anyone knows, it would be greatly appreciated.

Number of cloak\\jam, IIRC, doesn\'t matter. Only need one of each. As for large cloak\\jam, there\'s lag. Large cloak\\jam needs two people for power drain beams on docked reactors so you can have enough regen. Don\'t know if works in practice, should though

Each storage block can store 5000 energy if you have enough...

With docked reactors - do they count towards e/s requirement?

But at some point you can get 1 million regen and storage on 7x7y121z reactors (about 6\'000 blocks = 900\'000 consumption, a bit less than half are storage.) But I don\'t know about how many power-drains you need.

Maybe you can make a 5x5y250z reactor with 4\'000 blocks and only require 600\'000 to cloak/jam it, dunno - wanna try? :)

    EDIT:

    I made a 5x4y249z: 506 mass, 101 thrust (42 blocks), 9 shield blocks, 2 blocks are jammer/cloaker, almost (a bit below) 1 million regeneration AND 1\'250\'000 storage (1.25 seconds)

I don\'t know what is your problem?

3x4y337z, 400 mass, 850k storage, 966\'700 regen w/o other blocks. Maybe 450 mass is the most efficient...

My problem is that it is a 52k block ships currently. I need around 10mil e/sec to effeciently cloak, jam, shield, and weaponsize it. I don\'t think I have enough room inside my ship to create such a power generation scheme. If this is the case, then I believe my question is answered and I will post this on the development/suggestions page.

The whole point of cloaking is that only highly specialised ships can do it. Hull, shields, power storage, etc. are all unneeded on a perma cloak+jam ship.

    Not the turrets.

Not with enough power tanks and reactors.

Unless you use docked generators of course. What you CAN do however is get massive power storage and cloak for limited amount of times (with a long recharge time). This makes it balanced tbh as a big sip shouldn\'t be able to permacloak.
