chat won't connect

at the moment today I trying to connect to the chat but it won't go onto the chat it keeps saying connecting but doesn't connect. can someone please help

Can you connect with a IRC client?

It's not a ban. KiwiIRC will clearly notify you if you're banned on connect.
I believe he may be talking about the initial connection start.
