Cant run the game when server is active.

I am trying to run my own server. When i start the server then i start starmade I get a RuntimeException. When i shutdown the server then try to run starmade it starts fine. What am i missing?

Install a second copy in another directory.

You can not run the same game twice.

I don't understand what you are saying? Do you mean install the game it self or the server in a directory.

Like one in C:\.../Starmade the other in C:\.../StarMadeServer

You need to change the installation path in the StarMade Launcher to load each copy.

You can even set different variables for each installation in the StarMade Launcher.

You need check that every time you load up StarMade from another directory. Because the StarMade Launcher uses a single file/place to store the configuration.

Alright i have both directory set up. but how do i set the path in the launcher?

Under Build Type bottom left corner of the StarMade Launcher. Open the cogwheel next to it.

I don't know i think i am doing something wrong it just is not working. i click on the cogwheel icon then i go to browse button then i put in the path witch is C:\starmade-launcher-win32-x64\StarMade. but the same thing keep happening i start the server then i start the game it is still saying RuntimeException. I think i need a better explanation on what to do because i am just not getting it.

The StarMade Launcher has a directory of it's own to.

You need to tell the Launcher program where it can find the "real" StarMade program game files.

The path you entered in the Launcher is for the Launcher it self.


My Launcher data sits in C:\Users\administrator\AppData"hidden folder"\Roaming\StarMade

But my StarMade program file sits in D:\Games\StarMade\starmade.jar

My executable of the StarMade Launcher also sits in D:\Games\StarMade\starmade-launcher.exe
