Block rotation outside of ship build mode

Who builds on the surface of planets anyway, right? Well, ahem, I do. I was making a path on the surface and wanted it to do an incline, not like stairs but smooth. When I placed the wedge block, it was facing the wrong way. With no apparent way to rotate the block like in ship building mode I scrapped the idea and just made the stairs. I think it would be a practical addition to allow block rotation at all times.

You can rotate any block ..... hold ctrl and look at the right top corne.

The control key only activates inside of build mode, according to my experience. However the build block has been particularly useful for what i need.

How to orient blocks without a build block: Get in a core, orient block how you want in advanced build mode. Then remove it. Exit core. Without changing to a different block on your hot bar, go place it on your station/planet, and it will retain the same orientation.



But yeah, build blocks are your friend normally.

There are some servers which don\'t allow Build Blocks!

I think this is reasonable and there needs to be a possibility to have a rotate-hotkey. (maybe crtl+click while not in build mode?)

Just toggles between 2 directions for me. Doesn\'t help if you have 8 or 16, more annoying than usefull. Does not work in latest dev/pre (dunno if it just doesn\'t work because I put activate on CRTL and leave ship on \"minus\").
