Better Asteroid-Resource Matches

    Simply put, I think it would be a lot nicer if both resource colors on each asteroid were the same color instead of mismatched. A lot of them ARE matched already, which makes this choice all the more annoying.

    How so? You can barely even see the ores in asteroids from a distance in the first place, and it's not as if it's making the asteroid colors match the ore colors. It's just making the crystal and metal colors match.

    You have the different ores for color variation ie: dolom-white/with hylat-blue/hattel-yellow,at a distance gives more visual aesthetics to otherwise boring white rock (it shimmers in the distance)

    Why is the proposed pattern not simply color coded completely correctly, as apposed to having blue "Larimar" corresponding to purple "Rammet" atc

    I can see no reason for the current system, or the proposed one. We should have them color coded entirely.

    The asteroids themselves wouldn't change color, only what you got from them. (Their "output")

    No, because then you can't see the ores on the surface of the asteroid. That's annoying.

    Matching colors isnt really important. I actually wouldnt mind seeing them randomly mixed up as well. Its actually more strange that the chemical composition is reliable and predictable.

    The suggestion. if you were colour coding everything, I could at least see a point - even though i wouldnt agree with it. As it stands, your suggestion just looks like a daft change with zero reasoning behind it.

    Now, if you wanted to request very obvious texture diffferences for the colour blind, that could be something I could roll with, vote for and push (I'm not colour blind BTW). Right now, the oddity of the roids composition and the confusion it can cause is one of the reasons to still explore:
    "oh i need to make this, which ore is that?... thats the black roids, right? Oh, look, pirates!"
    Yeah, for experienced players, those arent a problem, but for newbs they are. Now, if somehow bigger, harder pirates were added and you suggested they guard the more "premium" ores (fertikeen lets say)... then again you would have a point. right now, you have some weird colour banding. Sorry for the typos and I hope that makes some sense. :)

    I'd be cool with matching all the colors.

    I'd be very cool with scrambling them all properly to complicate resourcing (thereby increasing the job value of miners).

    Either one, but yeah - the current system always seemed a bit confusing. You see color matches on most then with just a few it's not what you expect.

    Besides being satisfactory for certain people's OCD, this change would indeed make sense for increased recognizability. For example, a player might make a yellow-orange or blue-purple misrecognition from a distance, but when you have the crystals and metals color-matched like so, you can just make connections like "Sugil asteroids = those two orange resources" or "Cinnabar asteroids = those two blue resources", etc.

    The ores would stand out? I wasn't suggesting we make the entire asteroid the same color, I was suggesting that we correlate the ores to the capsule color they give. So blue would give blue ores, as it is now, a pink one can give a blue one, you mine pink and expect blue?

    One of the reasons the ores and crystals are placed together like they are now is because they work together in recipes I think. So just changing the color of the ore/crystals would be better than switching it around. Besides, the nav screen shows what asteroids are "Rich" in anyway, I never bother with color checks.

    Seeing as nobody pinpoint-mines asteroids, this is not at all true. Everyone scoops up both the ore and the rock anyway; no point in making the ore look silly in the rock.

    What the hell are you talking about? Turn your custom texture packs off dude. All ores give capsules of the same color, and there aren't even any pink ores.

    Wrong. Plenty of players who have just started and only have the spawn gear need to cherry-pick ores from the surface of asteroids before they can afford to upgrade their miners.
