Beams dont seem to work anymore

    I have startet a new universe some days ago. In this fresh Universe, i just own one ship, docked to a little Starter-Station, which is my faction home. As this, it is invulnerable. I am swarmed by a dozen pirate ships most of the time and all point defence turrets do what they can, to shoot down missiles. All in all, they are effective in doing this.

    But there is one lonely Beamturret, which is firing at the ships. It is very busy and fires permanetly. The Beams reach out, and in many cases, they seem to hit their target. The beam touches its target, ends there and… nothing happens. No damage, not to shields and not to hulls. Just nothing. VERY seldom there is damage displayed in red numbers, but nearly all hits don‘t have any effect. Cannons seem to work normally.

    I have placed such a Beam turret in front of a big target and fired at it. It worked normally.
    In this fight against hostile ships, Beams seem to be totally ineffective.
    What‘s wrong? Is it because the latest updates with changes on beam-damage?
    Are beams now completly useless, or do i something wrong?

    Sorry, that it took so long until i had a Chance to look at the Settings.cfg...
    The value for damage Display distance is set to 3000.
    Is that too low? I have to test it with a higher setting.
