Since people are starting to get more into carriers and mining drones again, I figured I'd put up a quick demo example of a basic load/unload carrier logic design. Its very basic just to show how its done, but it is the setup for one button press launch and recovery with option for automatic unloading (though that part isn't set up).
The big thing is that it re-uses the launch rails as the pickup rails, so that you can recall drones as fast as you can launch them.
There's a lot more you could do here. Like having the HUD icon for the pickup rail automatically turn off when the drone is docked, having individual overrides for each lane (useful for launching fighters one at a time instead of all or nothing), rail speed enhancers to put some more zip in launch/recovery, but this is the core of what all of my carriers run on.
