Basically the idea would be to make cubatoms into either physical items that can only be gained by splitting them in an Atomizer or by refining them in a Cubit Refinery.

Instead of pressing the 5 button to open the cubit system, the player would place items into the Atomizer and the machine would automatically start splitting the items into cubits. From there, the player could open either the Atom Refinery or the Cubit Constructor by pressing R while looking at it, at which point they would see the overall amount of cubits available to either combine or construct with.

These machines would be linked together the same way guns are linked to gun computers or factory enhancers are linked to factories, using V and C.

Multiple Atomizers could be linked to a single Arom Refinery or Cubit Constructor, and it might even be cool to have cubit storage blocks that could store many more than the default 255 of a single type.

Another optimization that could come from this could be that the refinery and the constructor would allow the player to filter between all items or only those that are currently possible with the cubits available at the moment.

The idea with this system is to eliminate the insane amount of clicking that is currently required through the cubit system. It also addresses another large complaint that making things through cubits is overly complicated to figure out (I don't think it's that bad, but I hear complaints) as well as the tedium of locating items you want to create in the fabricate menu, via the drop down menu. Currently, every item in the game is in there and in no particular order, making it necessary to scroll through the entire list to find different blocks to create.

This idea goes along with the idea of creating a research aspect to Starmade, and further allows server owners to reduce the relliance on shops, pushing players to use their own means of production and harvesting to develop their empire, ingame.

    That's it!

If you support this idea, please help keep it near the top in hopes that Schema may catch a glimpse of it, and hopefully like the idea as well.

Thanks for reading and Best Regards,
