My idea is this: A program that would let us take a 3d object file (.obj , .3ds , .max, etc) and convert it into a skin for our astronaut. The easist versions would be 3ds and .obj as they are more accessible.
It would work something like this: I have a .obj file and textures of a character (anything humanoid really), a activate a program select the .obj file, then slect the texture files, it brings everything together and out puts a astronaut that looks similar to the 3d model.
Some basics would be that the file would output to a set size (no giant astronauts) and maybe a lower resolution than we started with.
SMedit already allows us to take an .obj or .binvox file and bring it into starmade. Can we have some thing like that for out astronaut?
