    Hello Everyone,

I hat an Idea for an advanced blueprint system. It could partially replace the existing system.

The main change would be that blueprints become a ingame-item, but they should nethertheless be available as file in the Starmade folder to be uploaded to a server.

The main advantage of this system would be, that players could trade blueprints for Credits.

Blueprints could be written by building a Ship Scanner. That Structure can be a rectangular or square of Scanner Blocks with an attached Blueprint Printer. A Blueprint would be written by putting an emtpy blueprint into the Printer and flying throug the scanner. When you take out the new written Blueprint, you can type in the Model Name of the Ship you wish to have. The Blueprint also saves the name of the Creator of the Ship, and calculates a Material List for building the Ship and it calculates the Price of the Materials used.

If you now want to create a Ship, you put the Blueprint in a Ship builder Structure (maybe something using an astrotechnitian and technobeams? Or just something easy). After that you can put in the needed materials and the builder is making your ship.

If you want to sell the ship, you know the material costs when you look at the blueprint. This makes it easier for you to calculate the price of the ship.

The Blueprint printer should also have the features to print a blueprint from a file from your computer, and it could be able to multiply blueprints by copying them.

Please say what you think about that.
