The StarMade World File and SQL Command Reference

Sorry for the very late response, but I wouldn't know how to use DBeaver. I suggest using the HSQL database reader and instructions I posted in the document. HSQL databases normally have a name that is used, but for StarMade, there is no such name. The HSQL database reader doesn't have a...

Shadow - A server side modification for Starmade

Yeah, though Melvin is written in bash, he is his own bot. I'll probably never release the wrapper we are currently using to the public, just because it's so heavily customized to run on LvD. I will eventually release an opensource wrapper written in node.js, which will be free to the public...

      Skylord Luke needs your help

Just come to LvD and create a build account. - Your blueprints will be safe. Not just anyone can access your build area. You have to allow them to. - Access to build accounts are granted to anyone. There just needs to be an admin online to set you up, which takes about 30 seconds. -...

      Implemented Maximum Mass limit.

As the game changes, so too do the practical limitations of servers and clients. LvD was halving the mass limits each reset for a while. The next iteration would have been a 250k mass limit. ..But this reset, we lifted the mass limits (for now). We'll be re-evaluating what the limits should...

The StarMade World File and SQL Command Reference

HSQL documentation has been updated. With weapons 3.0, there were 2 sections added: 1. PUBLIC.ID_GEN_TABLE 2. PUBLIC.MINES Sorry for the late reply. I have no idea how to use "DBeaver". I'd suggest following up on their support forums IF the client supports HSQL databases. Otherwise I'd...

      Light vs Dark Server Redux

With the update to weapons 2.0, LvD is now switching completely to ALL 2.0 technology. 1.0 is gone! Kaput! Goodbye! We have also made a few decisions this reset. In no particular order: - This is a full reset with no carryover from the old world. Everyone is now starting on equal footing...

Compendium of Current Issues & Bugs

There are two kinds of issues with fleets. 1 is bugs and the other is how it pushes the game past the limits of what is practical so easily. So I'll post both issues, but separate by type: Bugs: 1. Mining fleets do not mine 99% of the time. Even when all is set up correctly, they just sit...

Yeah, that's really not a bug. More of a subjective thing.

How to effectively protect yourself with shields (Power 2.0)

Even more problematic is when the ship starts taking damage. Particularly from damage types like lots of cannons where the system gets shredded and gets negative integrity very quickly, then it all blows up causing massive lag storms.

Compendium of Current Issues & Bugs

Add this to the list: Turret weapons shooting at 90 degree angles instead of straight (yes the computers are aiming forward). This is a systems 1.0 ship vs a systems 2.0 ship: AI Ships shooting into space rather than the intended target. These are two systems 2.0 ships, shooting out into...

      Schine Bi-weekly Q&A - 15th of March

Will the weapons update allow admins to create new custom weapons (in addition to the default weapons)? For example, perhaps we could configure chamber-like effects to the custom weapon, set the values, and then set the damage pattern (including depth), and possibly the in-game graphics for it...

How to effectively protect yourself with shields (Power 2.0)

I'm guessing it is part of the desync issue that happened after the chunk prioritization update came out. Check the shields to see if they appear to be at 0, but then are fixed after reloading the sector the ship is in (by having all players in the sector go at least 3 sectors away or log off...

Add a "Ready" state to reactor chambers

Power was a big deal in Power 1.0. For example, it was very powerful having radarjamming on your ship. In fact, I think a necessity for any competent PvP ship. But using radarjamming would reduce the amount of weapons you could fire at once on the ship or limit your thrusting. This kind of...

How to effectively protect yourself with shields (Power 2.0)

It could be integrity. It seems that if your integrity is below 0, then it doesn't matter if you have shield protection or not on the blocks, the system will suffer integrity explosions. Or perhaps shields also have bugs here shooting from inside the bubble causes block damage? I'd need to...

Add a "Ready" state to reactor chambers

If other effects can use the mass in their calculation for power usage, then what you describe is basically systems 1.0. Was a tried-and-true system, for sure. Building a multi-use ship was possible, but then all your passives took more energy and for the size ship you were in, you'd seem...

Server Admin Requests for Systems 2.0

I have a ton of ideas for these. The reason I really want custom chambers is because I want to have alternatives to normal gameplay to achieve these custom blocks. So, for example a person might win regular PvP tournaments that happen daily so they get a special type of chamber block...

Add a "Ready" state to reactor chambers

You could do away with tech points entirely and separate out every level of a certain chamber type to be it's own chamber add-on that must be connected the a preceding level of chamber. Then you could make each of these chambers use power increase the power usage of the ability they modify...

Who plays with "draw logic pipes" on?

A lot of people don't realize that, several updates back, wireless logic blocks were changed so their connections (within the same entity) are not visible by default. People can still turn on "SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS" to see these logic lines, but most people don't even know the setting exists.

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

Granted I haven't tested this, but I think a vertical ship can simply rotate and then use left/right to change targeting faster than a long ship will take to retarget. It then leaves the person in a better position to continue tracking the target along the left/right axis. I always align my...
