yes, you could put 2 pairs of blocks to allow 2 axis\', i agree that 1 axis turrets will look really cool.

first of all, the pistons thing. i know that i thought about this: able to group them, so 2 linked pistons can expand 2 blocks i just don\'t think i wrote it down anywhere. next, this pairing and rotating around 1 axis, i\'m struggling to picture it. do you mean the turret will only move...

now i know what AMAMS are i know what the killer of 007 was talking about. AMAMS would be a great idea for shooting down missiles. it would be something like this, only, instead of an interceptor missile, it would be an antimatter cannon, and both the aunch pads would be on ships. of...

      Imperial Class Star Destroyer

there is a much easier way of deleting a ship. get it in your cross-hair, press f to select it, then press enter and type this, /delete_entity then it just vanishes. :)

      Turret integration

that\'s a good idea, especially for large ships. to dock my ship on a space station: a) it would have to be a massive space station, but, b) it would mean placing a lot of docking enhancers down to make the area large enough.

please feel free to call me a dumb ****, but, what are AMAMS??? :)

and, i\'m not sure how many blocks the sphere should cover: 1x1 so it only uses one block for the sphere and one for the cylinder, this would make attached cannons look out of place, or, 3x3 so the antimatter cannons fit in the center block and there is 1 block all around the outside, (this...

i\'ve been working on some more pictures and have created these to show how things would connect and the sizes. sorry for the pictures being so small. the bright green sphere is a sphere for a turret and the darker green box (might not be visible) is a general block size the blue...

well fisrt of all, there seems to have been a lot happening while i was asleep :) i see that tear151 has already answered part of your question Le_Flemard, so i will now try to answer the rest. the first thing i had to do was to find out what a voxel is. now that i have done that i can...

so, if you put some of these ideas together, you get turrets, under cover, which rotate freely and are pretty much sponsons. just, like these: these ideas are coming together well now guys. thanks for your input and any additions are welcome.

aPonyWhoLikesToMeow: It appears to me as if you are picturing sponsons rather than turrets. In any case I approve. ah, yes thats pretty much what they would be like, just with a 180º viewing range. a lot like this: they would also be moveable and would retract into the ships hull...

      Turret integration

in addition, you could also have a new block like a sideways plex lifter, that moves the turret in and out of the ship. this block can be \"toggleable\" and can have its own icon on the tray at the bottom. so when you highlight it and click everything attached to the turret moves out/in. you can...

      Turret integration

so, you mean when the ship is not fighting it has like a cover that blends into the ship when the turret retracts and when it is fighting it extends out of the side and fires at the enemy. something lkike this: or... they\'re not very good pictures, sorry. :) this is a great idea...

yes, functional broadsides would be great for ships. they would also have 180° view which would be useful for hitting ships pretty much anywhere. well, except on top and below but that\'s what turrets on top and below are for

      Turret integration

yeah, thats pretty much the same thing i was getting at, but if i\'m right do you mean the core overide would have its own box and whatevers in that box would function on its own, while still being part of the ship?? it is a good idea if i have understood it right :) you could still keep...

      Turret integration

ship docking could have the above mentioned docking block to allow more of a gap and it could also come with an air-lock type system, that seals onto adjacent air-lock blocks on the docking ship creating an attached ship and an air tight seal which would lead on to ships having their own air...

      Turret integration

MultiDavid: Huh why just... ...not make a special docking block that you place under the ship and thats where the beam comes from this is a good idea and will give turrets more movement room. Hierarch: How about we get a new system that uses physically rotating block that work in...

      Turret integration

yes that is a good idea as well. i believe you are allowed one block beneath the core when docking but no more than one block beneath. something like that anyway. it would be great to allow more of a gap between the core and the docking module.

      Turret integration

That is a good point also. I\'ve noticed that on my ships, when you\'ve got several turrets and ships attached it is very annoying and in my case also makes it hard to see. Thisshould be another thing changed, making the reticles of ships disappear when docked.
