Power tanks aren\'t useless, they scale exponentially upwards. On small ships they\'re pretty useless, but if you have a couple hundred you\'ll see massive energy maximums.
It\'s a problem I experience too, regardless of whether or not I\'m on NASS or offline. It\'s much more noticable when I\'m entering or leaving a planet, and very frustrating when fighting along sector boundries.
Honestly, I can think of no conceivable benefit to having a faction\'s homebase displayed to everyone. It just invites griefers, which NASS has no shortage of.
Does anyone have a more detailed rundown of how they work? I've done some weak testing and they seem to either ignore shields, or be ignored by shields.
It\'s a lot harder to make a big shield than to make a big AMC. Even a decent sized AMC (Or array of them) can shred through a large shield in no time flat.
Im' not sure if this has been reported yet, but faction homebases, while immune to conventional weapons, can still have cubes stolen from them by salvaging beams.
