(Bigger stuff = better) => how this can actually NERF big ships.

Yep. Seems nice. Except maybe some day most computationally-heavy things should be moved to native library; but that's hardly a priority right now. Also, congrats on your millenia post!

What about Bresenham-style line tracing? It's quite fast (fastest line-tracing algorithm out there) if done in its integer version, and the only modification required is to convert it to 3d space. Amount of integer math operations is linear in biggest axis change, plus ~5-10 floating-point...

Errm. Decorative blocks seem nice, but thats a bit offtopic, plus its a suggestion on its own. Something along the lines of "make decorative blocks weightless".

I do not see how it can hurt aesthetical builders. I mean, it only mandates that quickslappers, too, spend space as "useless", so designers do not have a disadvantage. But i see your point about configurability. I added some info about configurability in the header. But i do not think "slap a...

I never added the "optional" part only because it would make my post even more complex. Ability to configure everything is a suggestion in itself, and it can be quite tricky to implement. At the very least check scripts should be either parametrized or programmed by server admin, and scripting...

I understand it as just an admin's tool. It's not like just anybody can get such block and place a few at his place -- it's exactly a way to organise in-game arenas of sorts. I mean, in the original proposition it can be placed by anybody; but a config can be changed to allow only gms to have...

Recognized Solution for Rail changing X,Y,Z, a Rail Wedge

Seems nice, it could allow making slow-moving turbines for engines. Except the turn should have some sort of animation, as rapid change of orientation from 0 to 45 can both scar and scare somebody. Not a slow one, 0.1-0.3 sec should work fine - just don't make it change angle instantly.

What if this "game control block" creates a separate isolated sector? This way you: automatically prevent anyone from interfering with the duel (unless they join through the GCB interface) prevent usage of GCB to "neutralize" systems allow for planet-based warfare, as if i remember correctly...

You are obviously not a programmer. Programs cant bug on their own. If it is written correctly, it will behave correctly. If it behaves incorrectly, then it was written incorrectly. It will never have a headache, a vacation, a divorce; it will not be triggered by a player's name and it will not...

Tobie Oh my god. This is the summary i personally would not be able to make. I think what you just wrote is the best possible TLDR for my thread. Thank you very much, reference to your post goes into the original post.

I totally agree with you. The only thing that i see differently is that i think humans can follow simple rules well. I mean, checking for nicknames like "{-=PoWn@gE=-}" on an RP server is one thing, but deciding whether the ship is okay or not is quite complex. What if i rounded corners of my...

      Council Survey Thread: FINAL ROUND

I did a wall-of text recently on suggestions forum - here's how i proposed to deal with multiple weapon controls / turrets/ drone ships: same as what DraconisDomini suggests, power usage should grow at a pace greater than linear; but i think that it should be based on the total amount of the...

That's because: minecraft farms have too much performance -- as soon as you build your 1x1 farm, you have infinite food. Thus any difference in perfomance is negated there are multiple farm designs, from automated to manual. Best possible melon farm is 10% ahead of the worst one in...

I cannot. I am a programmer. I do not believe in objectivity of ANY biological arbitration entity, be it community, GM, myself or wise men who followed the star. If it can't be enforced through the code, then it can't be enforced at all. Its not outlawed, proceed to view the picture in my...

Read carefully and watch closely. This ship is beautiful. And it is a completely viable ship in my system, as it has a lot of free space inside, which is exactly how i propose to nerf doomcubes. It's not that I propose that cuboids are to be burned in hell; it's that they should provide no...

What exactly IS a 'doom cube'

[i'm an author of that thread with cuboids]. Actually, that's the example of a beautiful ship. That's what i meant when i said i measure beauty in the amount of visible effort. You, BiGEdge, are one hell of a craftsman and your ship is beautiful. [And also it seems to have a lot of empty space...

You've seen many shipwrights and hoarders and nomads /on the same server/ in garry's mod? Ah. My bad, should've clarified that part. Slaves are exactly like now. Dimensions provide different effect based on exact combination (beam-missile, missile-missle) -- i thought i noted this somewhere. I specifically pointed out lockons and heatseeking missiles -- just sorta assumed the slaves...

Well, conclusions all are in the last part of the text. And what do you mean by "you can't"? Can't as in "it is impossible", or can't as in "it is inhuman and outright savage"? Because first part is called game design, that's what people who make games do. They get a concept and try to make up...
