Java 8 Update 25 When I try to open the demo it says "To view this web content, you need to install java Runtime Environment. When I click more info it takes me to a java page that wants me to install the same version of Java o_O

I have a mac and I saw this game. I downloaded the demo on steam to see what the game is and maybe buy it once I get paid but java is not working with it. Can anyone help me? Also, Should I buy the game from the official Starmade website or steam (is there a difference)?
