So i went to this "Prate station" and defeated it, i destroyed the module and stuff, but STILL the chests in the structure were complete empty :(
I noticed this too.. However, it only does so for the non-generic pirate bases..
I attacked the pirate base that was in older versions of the game...
Ok, so it's been a while since i last played StarMade, months in fact, but after being bored i decided to try it again and been having fun building my ship and stuff..
I got to the point where I'm like "Alright.. i think i can take on one of these pirate bases now :P"
I head to the nearest one...
I was thinking of alternatives to improving the current crafting system and i thought ways that would most suit Starmade and it's era.. and i came up with a system called "Molecular/Atomic crafting" ...
SUMMARY
It is a separate/assemble type of crafting where blocks/items are separated into...
This would put too much stain on the servers if they were calculating the lighting.. plus the client is the one that renders it so putting lighting on the server side is kinda pointless.. the only part server sided is the light block positions (as with all other entities and the blocks attached...
Hmm.. the lighting would be all client sided.. and if you didnt want to lag a client due to too many lights then you can limit the amount by either:
A: Setting the distance from the player where dynamic lighting will be active..
B: Using some of "count limiter" to limit the amount of...
I completely agree.. collisions need a major overhaul.. I first noticed this in the config ages again and it said about collision damage and i assumed this would be damage for high speed impacts.. i tried pushing an asteroid around at a very low speed like i usually did before i turned on the...
Dynamic lighting
I've been flying around the spawn area for a while with shadows on and I've tried to light blocks up blocks using the light on the nose of my ship but it wont even illuminate anything (apart from the ship itself)..
So i thought i'd suggest "Dynamic lighting" where the light...
Yeah :D That would make a lot of sense, especially the planet terrain and stuff ;) The water on planets could also change color from it's composition.. In fact, it might not even be H2O water, but an entirely different liquid..
Well.. when some lava cools it does become black.. like the one's in Hawaii..
Also.. about this "Lava".. lava is basically molten rock and stuff right? So what if the lava here has this color because of it's composition? like the color of the rock that's become molten, or maybe the ores it...
Aww.. really? I was really hoping they'd be an upcoming feature.. but then again maybe they will be? why else would they call it "Blue lava" and stuff, plus the layout would suggest that the capsules could be used to craft these blocks.. perhaps by dyeing or something?
So maybe these...
Not multiplayer.. this is in singleplayer.. (running off a locally hosted dedicated server)
If this is an upcoming feature i'm looking forward to it.. particularly blue and black lava ^-^ Perhaps it's not fully added yet as it has no texture? :/
I just had a look in the minerals part of the shops and found stuff like Blue/red/black/etc. lava and water and stuff.. and i thought: "No way.. awesome! blue lava would look awesome on my ship :D" *clicks buy* ("This is old technology and we are no longer selling it") "Awww.. :( nuuuu!"
But...
Thanks heaps Kupu :D This helps a lot, now i can finally see what things i need for what in full ;)
Ps: the reason i may be getting the GL exception is probably because i use a kinda old graphics card :/
I'll write a bug report later to give further details..
I'd like to have a high resolution version of the crafting tree/grid thing on the news page..
I've look at this thread http://starmadedock.net/threads/starmade-0-16-crafting-and-battlemode.2318/ And apparently if you press TAB + o then it would generate, but i just get this error: D:
And...
Hmm.. Wouldn't the "surface area" be the amount of faces on the outside rather than the blocks on the outside themselves?
This would make cubic ships slightly less efficient, as a ship with wedges and other partial blocks will have less faces.. and thus less surface area ;)
True, but if it's...
That might not be possible with this system as you have to aim with the beam to dock, and if you're only triggering the activation module, it will just fire the beam forwards because there is no aiming, for specific aiming it will need to be done normally..
[EDITED POST TO NOTIFY OF THIS..]
This is a pretty simple addition/change that will expand the new activation modules a lot :D
EDIT: Just learned this is already a planned feature that will be added soon :D
DESCRIPTION:
Activate "activation modules" through the flight mode's hotbar, just like a weapon or effect
USES:
Fire...
