I agree with all that you have posted, but a kickstarter does not necessarily require a development schedule with deadlines to meet, or in-game incentives given to players who donate "x" amount of currency. I would gladly participate in a kickstarter just to show my support for the game and...
That is quite hilarious.
If someone wanting to make a potato salad can earn $55,000, then I don't see why the dev team shouldn't at least take it into consideration. I only hope to see this game achieve its full potential.
@El_Poulpy My apologies. I should have taken a closer look at it, apparently. Divici has a design similar to yours, and I mistook it for his. You did an excellent job, by the way.
The original builder is Divici, and he is one the most talented builders that I've seen. He updated his hull though and added some interior. I noticed that the ship's hull in the video was slightly different than his updated version.
In my opinion, allowing the use of quarter sized blocks would empower the player to create smaller craft with much greater fidelity and detail. In the picture below, I give an example of what would be a normal sized block on the left, and then a quarter sized block on the right. There are...
Slight update. Was extremely busy today, so didn't really get around to do much.
Added satellite dish, exterior docking area, and two top entrances into the station. Exterior still has plenty of barren space for more additions.
If you're unfamiliar, you can always watch tutorials on youtube, download the trial version, and make a blob. It wouldn't be hard for a basic asteroid.
I own 3DS Max and made my own asteroid model. If the contest weren't so short, I would have considered making it by hand. But, with only 3 weeks that was pretty much my only route.
I guess there's 3 now. Still lots of work left to do as it looks pretty barren. The only downside I am regretting at the moment is that it ate up nearly a whole week just do the asteroid, leaving me with 2 weeks to do the actual station part.
No need to correct my post. If you are really going to get this childish about it, I guess I'll go back and find the artist who drew the piece of concept art from the DeviantArt website.
I agree. The station is quite generic and it is very familiar looking. I have seen it somewhere before in some kind of concept art from an artist in DeviantArt. If I come around to seeing it again, I'll be sure to post a reference link.
