It's worth it (I'm talking from experience here :P ). I just find that it looks better than 90° angles with the normal blocks.
But hey, if you're not as masochistic as I am and don't want to wedge/tetra/penta an entire ship it's entirely your choice, I'm just offering my humble opinion :)
This user has apparently been digging up ALL of the old suggestions (with some being written by the actual Supreme_Panda on the old site). I read on an other thread that this guy is an impostor (may not be true).

Missiles can now be shot down by beams. Read the changelog and git gud ;)

Precisely! Even simple commands such as "follow, attack enemy, return, protect targeted entity" and stuff like that with a basic UI would be a gigantic improvement!
Yea, I really can't wait for proper drone controls to be implemented. It'll allow me to waste less credits (since I won't have to buy a new rack every time I enter combat) and maybe even make a rack composed of salvage drones :D
With the changes I made to the back I think that I'll be able to put multiple drones in the inner area besides the smaller engines, since it's nice and flat.
Getting attracted by a planet while I'm 5 sectors away would be terrible.... Can you imagine ALWAYS being attracted by a planet while you're flying around? That's what the OP is suggesting.
Why can't people type "Kerbal" properly. The game is called Kerbal Space program, or KSP for short.
Orbital mechanics aren't ingame. With what you're suggesting planets would act like black holes and flying around in space would really suck.
