Considering that shield damage now has a recharge bonus I would say yes. If the game has a variable awarding the bonus then the presence of the bonus would alert anyone looking at the menu of the fact that specific ship is under fire.
@FunnyBunny14 You left an 'Old' rating. Do you have a link...
@jzimmerman4
The pull down would be much easier to implement right away. A map or 'space topography' might be shoe horned in later but for folks on machines with performance issues the last thing we need is the UI to turn wibbly wobbly. So a fall-back setting to not use the 3D UI and rely on the...
Anytime you place a faction block and apply your faction signature to it the vessel or facility gets recorded to a pull down list of navigation destinations. This should include ships in use as they travel. All members of the faction have access to the same info unless a system were devised to...
@Majorfatboy F-yeah
I was considering a collaborative effort. Everyone knows I have a faction. A faction with a 99.9 percent denial rate. I'm considering opening that up for one reason and one reason alone: Building a full size graveyard. Take a 10k^3 sector and fill it with hulks, wrecks...
@flpsantoss YES, more contributions! I'm tossing around the idea of a collaboration between this, the SSD thread and the boarding/hacking ideas. I'll invite you to the convo :3
@Majorfatboy
I loved Major Kong. In unnatural ways. X3~ nt rly but I love Stanley Kubrick films especially any with...

@Majorfatboy
I dig it but it's a game mechanic based on realish stuff.
Besides you'll have a nice RAD meter on your ship to warn you if you get close. Just navigate around! Don your cowboy hat and ride a disintegrator torp right past...
The moderators don't have such thin skin.
I choose you @fire219! AKA WikiTheKidd
In other words, the core overheats and the material it is made of melts. And in the OP I account for a range of 1100k to 1500k but use 1500k in the calculations to give a "worst case scenario".
I think comparing it to the way other games used the concept is selling what StarMade can do woefully short.
Imagine a randomly generated by procedure hull and system of corridors buried inside the larger wrecks. Those wrecks are somewhere in the middle of a vast debris field with other hulks...
i think timing should be the real key. get in, get out, shed some RADs then plunge back in. We already know asteroids are tops at shielding small craft or large craft narrow enough to hide behind them. adding on to an already large enough roid and pushing it into place might be the best way to...
Theoretically? Lol I dunno. The idea is very prelim and it seems like we're cobbling several ides together into a big pack. Something like this ends up in a proposal and delivered to the swirling ghosts cats of mt schine.
Anyone who didn't set their base to home or left a ship undocked is gonna login to overheating cores.
That's not to say the idea doesn't have merit. It's just the OP isn't really fleshing out the concept enough for any of us to grab onto it and appreciate the subtle genius.
It lends well to a pair of ideas:

and
http://starmadedock.net/threads/procedurally-generated-ship-graveyards-radiation-and-reduced-salvage-beam-efficiency.2396
This could be used to create an interior for my space graveyard idea. maybe the idea is you can't salvage the ship until you destroy its ruined core. meanwhile the radiation inside and whatever defenses or creature are there are all chipping at your hp. powering up weapons systems to fight for...
