Maybe instead of having a grid of shields, like in STO, you have the normal shield layout we have right now. However, when a person manning the shield console directs power to the area that is being hit, the damage against the shields decreases?
What is the basis behind this? How wold directional shielding lead titans to crash into each other? It would lead them to try and flank each other, yes, which is a good thing. It greats a larger need for pilot skill. The armor idea is irrelevant to this thread, which is about making it so people...
Okay, this was a joke but now I'm pretty scared. I've never seen pictures of Schema in real life, all I know of him is those cold, dead, grey eyes staring at me from his avatar. He isn't human, guys. He is some sort of AI. Spread the word.
YES! I have been wanting something like this ever since I've STARTED playing Star Made. You have no idea how happy I am someone finally gets this. Keptick, you couldn't be more wrong. Just being on someone else's ship is nice, no matter what you do, because you can't help but feel a sense of...
Im still really confused. I was only suggesting a long wind up time for starting a sustained FTL jump. The current FTL mechanics would remain with my suggestion.
Na, because funny is actually used. I say Informative, and only informative.

A melee weapon that can cut through plexdoors, very slowly cut through glass, destroy computers, cockpits, and other blocks. It would be able to dismember players.
At the very least, make the hand held salvage beam damage players.
It's a Sci-fi vowel world that doesn't make any sense anyways, so who are you to tell me what kind of damage star made weapons do? Also, +1 to assassination take downs. And who are you to tell me that blood doesn't fit what Star Made is? What if I want to be a crazed, violent pirate? I want to...
Being vaporized isn't as fun because you don't see people exploding. "It's more fun" is just an opinion, its alright if you dont agree with it. But if this were implemented, you could turn it off if it bothers you so much. My opinion is that it would be fun and comical and make combat more...
It doesn't mean "we can go any direction we want," it just means that we should be able to play it however we want, and if we want to see some people exploding, what's the problem? We already have debris, I assume that organic debris shouldn't be that different. And so what if the weapons in...
The game is sandbox, it can be whatever style you want. It doesn't really matter whether it is on automatically or not. And maybe if we get more AI crew, you can see clouds of corpses. And it does do something for the game - it just makes it a little more fun. I think your diction is mildly...
