StarMade Prebuild 0.09398: Physics lag fix

Will this information be cached client-side or server-side? If client-side, is it going to contribute to client-server data mismatch problems? I\'ve seen this problem and frequently need to delete my \\client-database\\DATA folder because of my local data not being accurate with what the server...

StarMade dev update: why spherical planets don't fit in a block world

What if you combined the spherical coordinate gimmick trick (to preserve the spherical illusion from space) with the seperate world idea? The image as seen from space would not necessarily need to be updated 100% real-time with the happenings on the planet, but with a delayed visual update cycle...

StarMade dev update: why spherical planets don't fit in a block world

I don\'t see a loading screen being a problem any more than the initial load-in is when you start the game. I hate to say it, but the load screen works in minecraft with world transitions, why not here? I\'m not sure what you mean about no idea about what a planet is like - currently you have...

StarMade dev update: why spherical planets don't fit in a block world

Perhaps planets in this way be handled like sector(s)-within-a-sector but with special rules (gravity, looping borders, increased drag)?

StarMade dev update: why spherical planets don't fit in a block world

Also, going this route and having the planet surface eventually loop back onto itself, preserving the idea of a spherical, yet cubic world.

StarMade dev update: why spherical planets don't fit in a block world

I think this idea is amazing and would have the potential for planets to really be more planet-sized in game, lending them much needed size, character, and use. If each was a seperate plane world (ala minecraft), orbital/atmospheric battles could happen where ships fight under the gravitational...

      Ship shutdown

I like the idea of being able to play dead by having all systems powered down. It could be a strategy for hiding a ship when a player goes offline - hollow out an asteroid, get inside it and shutdown everything. If power could be allocated between systems on the fly, it could open the door for...

A way to move the ship core without destroying and rebuilding the entire ship..

What if Calibiri\'s idea of frame blocks was used (http://www.star-made.org/content/frame-blocks) and the core block as we know it was removed from the game? The functionality of the core block then be automatically assigned to the first frameblock placed. After ship building gets underway a...

      The spread of Purple Stuff

I think it kind of sounds like a mechanic for the benefit of those currently role playing it as if it were real now. I don\'t think it really adds much to the game, and with it being autonomous and growing, it could have serious unintended consequences (in addition to trolling potential) in a...

      Fighting Gigantism in Starmade

Firstly I want to thank Schema for making an awesome game. If it wasn\'t for how good the game is and how much potential we all know it has, we wouldn\'t be here offering ideas/criticisms for improvement. My thoughts regarding gameplay and balance are written with the following core thoughts...

      Cockpits for Weapon PCs

I think it would be good if any of a ships turrets could be entered via the host ship\'s core, weapon PCs, or cockpits. Currently it seems that turrets can only be controlled by actually accessing their individual cores, which makes multiplayer control of a cap ship problematic. If turrets could...

      [Docking Module] Modular Ship Layouts

I like the idea of modularizing the ship design process, but I see the solution to that being in the form of pre-made (non-ship) saved catalog designs, not in making turrets/docked ships share all resources. Perhaps a special \"Add-on\" block that could substitute as a ship core for the purposes...

Better Block Rotation (Pitch Yaw Roll)

I agree. I need my sideways wedges.

Hull blocks as more than decoration

I concur. Exploding power blocks (with the resultant blast being proportional to the energy output of the cluster) would be awesome. Also hull blocks do need some love - the ability to absorb damage from non-hull neighbors would also be a perk to using them.

      Making ships SO much cooler

I think this would be an excellent idea and in addition to the graphical improvement, it would really enhance the overall feel of combat. Once the pacing of combat is tweaked a bit, I think this idea would make in-combat damage control that much more important.
