haha, i was right about the launcher being this months update, in the end it isnt going to hurt this game having to wait an extra month, gives us all time to play different games over christmas.

We needed to release that launcher update as it provided backup functionality. This is a large update and having a backup feature is incredibly useful

Doing it right and doing it well always takes time. Even the most anxious of folks will appreciate a finely tuned update over a rushed one. So take all the time you need to do it right.

It gives me time to get my single player capitol ship ready.

Sorry for the general bad vibe from my post, but the shear amount of waiting for content is starting to take its toll.
Im sure others were all waiting on the weekend for any sign of an update, instead we get this message that seems 3-4 days late.

I only paid $20 for this game, roughly 2 years ago. i cant complain about it being worth it as ive poured 600+ hours into this game which is great, but the last 2 months ive seen a huge drop in the communities size.

The game isnt as fun to play when there is only 3 other people on...

I've waited years for this update. Rather it be done right, than done quickly.

I hope they need the backup feature, so that we can add new factions, and edit the existing ones.

We have so many sci fi ships, that we need to use them.

Pretty sure a lot of people are just lurking. I haven't played Starmade in half a year or so, but I'm super excited about this update. I'll be playing for sure when it goes live.

full faction customization? Nice!! Star Wars galaxy on the way!!!!

This may sound stupid, but do the NPCs factions need working factory's on their stations to process the resource they mine?

Maybe he donated to a server or pays (partially) for hosting a server on starmade too

Yeah. This could be excellent.

Now, I haven't yet taken a look at how this is configured, but Schine should definitely think about having custom factions be able to be confined to a single folder within the factions folder, so they can have custom configs for them specifically, with subfolders in turn for things like their blueprints for ships, stations, etc etc

This would make exporting a well-designed faction a breeze.. and wow wouldn't that just be rad. An "Imperial" faction with Star Destroyers and boatloads of TIE fighters? With some serious aggression tuning in the config..

Just, too cool. Too much fun, stop it!

Don't forget the working Deathstar homebase.

I can't wait for this update. I'm taking a break from StarMade due to boredom but am excited to see how this changes the game. Maybe I'll finally have to figure out fleets!

I am seriously excited for this update too. It's gonna be great. I can even upload the ships I wanted to enter in the contest as a faction :P
