    Still.

I would like to see factions auto delete once faction points go to zero.

Of course, the database would need a sanity check so that ALL entities of deleted faction become factionless and therefore free-for-all (not, unknown faction).

    ie
Faction points go to zero because people no longer playing in faction and after 7 days (changable via a setting) at zero, faction is automatically deleted and all entities owned by faction become factionless.

This is not going to solve faction inactivity issues, since it costs nothing to maintain one single system.

No. Absolutely not OP. There are a few features that only become accessible when faction points reach 0, such as the ability to damage the faction's homebase. What you're proposing would eliminate that feature from the game.

    I do not see why?
Perhaps 7 days is a little short, but an active faction will always have points.
Even if you reach zero points your homebase is protected until the timer (7 days or whatever you like) runs out.
My server has tons of dead factions and they are a pain tbh.
If I remove them, the entities just show "Unknown Faction".
Time for factions to buckle up and be active or goodbye imho.

Also, after thinking better, if a faction decides to take a break that means they are going to lose everything.
Sorry, but now I see this is as a ridiculous idea.

I could see a little bit of maintenance being required. All that I think would be needed though would be to increase territory costs for when factions are inactive for long periods. If they come back on even moderately frequently, they'll be fine. If they never touch the game again, their homebase will not have it's protection and if anyone wants to take it they may.

Has this happened or going to?
Constant management of old factions is a little annoying.
Would still like to see an auto delete that can be turned on/off by admins for such micro-management issues.

I agree, it should be a server config option and also add a "clean old factions" command for admins.

Server configurable option for this and default it some something like 30 days of total no member activity with X number in the negatives of faction points. This would make it a little saner. Also both being configurable would mean if server owners wanted to oust factions after a week they could do so. Also the territory drain would have to get more and more painful the longer factions are inactive. Also Home Base Protection should cost something as well if a large number or percent of players in a faction are inactive. :)
