Yeah, this sounds good, especially the automatic undocking/docking. I also thought of a similar system with patrols with a given range around the target. I also thought that we could have different types of Bobbies, each of them presenting better features. But maybe the fact of having 5 different bobbies will make the player reluctant to craft/buy them, or I don\'t know. Do we want everybody to have the same powerful bobby or have different kinds of bobbies to spice up the fights and features?
Like the default bobby is just for small turrets regarding its actual specs, with a 200m range approx for all the shots to hit a relatively large target (small fighters seem to get easily through the lasers at a certain distance) and poor features, why not having better versions of the bobby? Like the Missile CPU computers.
In the Bobby menu we could have a few new things like a Patrol option (with radius parameters and ship behaviour parameters, like offensive or defensive) or a Follow option. I thought that the bobby could have a \"docking\" beam like the ship core: you aim with the bobby the ship\'s (or base\'s) ship core you want to protect and it would be linked with it and would patrol around it. Of course, I thought that bobby-controlled ships must be easily defeatable, like if they get 5 blocks destroyed they would be disabled and have to be manually \"re-booted\". Powerfully fragile in other words :D
I also thought about harvesting ships: you create a ship with a bobby, salvage cannons and a plex storage unit, and like linking the bobby to a ship core, you would link it to a Plex Storage located in a base or something similar, and the ship would go and grab the minerals back and forth.
And what about multi-targetting or friendly aiming? There are some support beams and could be use to change the tide of the battle. Imagine a \"mothership\" providing shield supply (if that\'ll come) to nearby friendly ships, or repairing some damaged elements on the go, or providing some energy so the ships have better regen/weapon power.
Well...^^ Transforming little battles in epic ones would be possible with better bobby :D
