Nothing to do on a sleepless night... I positioned myself touching a plent in one of the cardinal directions and the distance to the marker is just over 250 meters. Assuming 1 meter = 1 block, it means planets are 500 meters in diameter and have an area of just under 200 million sqaure...

I understand that at the moment planets are all the same size. How much is the diameter in blocks?

Two sided discs would work well if the terrain generation algorithm would crate a tapered or rounded off edge. Cubes would be very amusing as well, but would need a lot of consideration into how the edges work. Here\'s a classic Escher engraving of a cubical world...
