I agree with all of this.. and understand from both points of this. I do hope that this does become a more readable dialog in the server console so we as server owners and such can find that nasty little thing having the collision. This would have saved me 3 hours hunting down and destroying...
If you are speaking on the side of a server owner:

If you are speaking on the side of a client joining a server:
Speak to the server admin to get option changed.
On the side of a builder:

On the side of a RP Server person:

As far as i am aware just like stated by Crimson above, the logic pipes were going to be dealt with. I would almost say like a rumor i heard that they are only going to be shown when in build mode as that is the only trully time you will need to see them.
You can kinda already do this... with area trigger or a presure block... if you want you could wire in a button with some logics to make it where you have to press it so often or the doors open again...
Ok right now here is the way it works sadly....
You only get a signal when docking and that is all.. it is a bug.. but at this time there is no way to trully find out if you loose a turret other than looking at it:( At least i have not found a way to note if one get disconnected... OR you...
Currently this a shell of a ship that looks pretty kewl made by hand in multiplayer so nothing was spawned in or single player day... But it is a small vid of the outside veiws if people would like other veiws let me know but stats and links below...

I would say the third way i am thinking where it is a planet on both sides so not completly flat on either side.. now or just leave as is.. this would still come into play with gravity and such.. just like floating chunks of the worlds left... But coding all this is a pain and i understand all...
