i really like the idea! +1 for you. but it Would be cooler if you could get something from the Gas Giants. an animated background? you know with lightnings and sounds? in my head: lightnings = energy! can we have an Energy-Receiver (shield), to collect the "Potential Energy" on a Gas Giant? but...

ok, thats true. solar energy would be useless until we don't longer have blocks that magical produce energy. but, whenever you play a future update, and you are like: "oh, i'm running out of fuel..." and then you are looking back to this thread and will say to yourself: "why did i not agree?!"...

There are only 6 threads about Solar panels... so here is another one! Solar panels could be single blocks with only one side that must face the sun, but they could also be stackable like weapons. and they need something that makes them better/different than Power reactors: they must allways...

the energy of your entire ship controlled by ONE block? why not giving it a function radius (50 blocks around it), high HP and armor? or make a multiblock structure with the core. wait... power reactors don't need something to produce energy, why would i want to turn them on or off? you would...
