You could easily install Blender and I can send you the .blend file for the scene. Other than that, I don't know of any alternative.

I'm trying to decide if I should model them. It took a large amount of time to get this far. I also have to model the player character and a type of planet for the project. Animation takes a long time to implement everything into a scene. Everything also has to be rigged, animated, and rendered...

Sure, I'm finishing a ship at the moment, but I can start in a few days at the latest. The ships that I am modeling will be used in a project further down the road. I'm not just whimsically modeling ships. Could I use the ship model in my project?

The biggest problem with model these ships is the textures. Modeling is half the work. Once I've UV unwrapped the skin, I use Gimp to create a custom skin which is then placed on the model.
