Dr. Whammy Beams are currently bugged against armor. They sometimes do much much much higher damage than they are supposed to, the reason is currently unknown (I don't have time to test atm). It's super random, so 1 tick might do normal damage, and the next 10 do stupidly overkill damage. From...
Use something like notepad++ to open the configs, not window's text editor. If you use a proper editor then the config is properly organised in lines/categories, instead of a single ultra long line (I assume that's your problem?)
Thanks! Using forcefields for lightning isn't my idea, I saw someone do it a few years back. However, iirc it was the same "bolt" that turned on and off. In this case I actually made a randomization circuit for it so that it randomly switches between the 3 preset lightning "bolts" for each area...
If the inhibitor ship is immobile then it would be easy to obliterate with missile-missile, which ignores shields and does relatively high damage with only a few weapon blocks.
The whole thing wasn't caused by docked reactors. Docked reactors didn't exist anymore by the time the update came out, as they had been replaced by auxiliary power blocks (which essentially generated the same amount of power per block, but they were placed directly on the ship).
Update #5: New medium turret
Presenting, the M5 turret:
This turret will replace the old M3 turret (the one with the big barrels) as the ship's anti-medium-stuff defense. As you can see, it will use beams as it's weapon, in order to properly hit smaller and nimbler targets. It has 360...
The problem with volley is that you need to hold down the trigger to use it properly. The AI doesn't do this, instead it "clicks" periodically (as far as I can tell), which is why volley doesn't work
Yep, seems like it was also affecting turrets with a single weapon computer. By the way volley fire on turrets does not work properly, so I strongly advise that you don't use it until it gets fixed.
Honestly, I think the easiest is simply getting people to always use the latest dev build and QF configs (from the Github repo). If schema does happen to make a change to the config files we'll most likely adjust our configs in max 24 hours, so it'll only be broken for a day or so. For example...
