Updates?

So, I know the devs moved away from the previous schedule of published updates, but is there a way we could still get regular post updates or something from the team? Maybe a bi-weekly post regarding what has been accomplished the previous week, things to look for in the coming weeks, or any new bug fixes that impact the community as a whole?

We understand that it's a lot of work to push an update to the game every week or even every other week. But we still like hearing from the devs, even if it's just a "hey, here's what we worked on this past week!" The game may not have reached any milestones that week, but at least we as the community get to see that it's still moving forwards towards those milestones.

Is something like that possible or doable for the development team?

Why do you need constant updates other than bug fixes from a developer? What is it with so many gamers now constantly begging for "updates, updates, updates"? What alternate reality has this become that gamers want to be continually annoyed, oppressed, bugged with more bugs, and often in the case of most games - CHARGED MONEY - for an all sacred "update" from a games' developer? Hasn't anyone that has ever played ONE SINGLE GAME over the past 30 years learned the simple, fundamental, all-encompassing eternal truth about software in general???? - The more updates, the more it breaks!!

Hate to say it Schine, but honestly, Starmade was best when you left it alone and just did bug fixes rather than trying to fundamentally keep changing HUGE things in the game. Starmade continues not because of this dev team, but DESPITE it. This is a sad reality for many players and it shows in the # of active players now, vs 1 year ago, vs 2 years ago...

Yes, we need bug fixes. We need core game mechanics done and fixed that we've been waiting for , for 3-4 years now. We don't need "updates" or a new power fundamental game-breaking ship-breaking change, or some almighty holy re-imagining to make fanbois pee their pants.

I want to keep weekly dev blogs (at least bi weekly). News is now whenever there is news, was away when these changes were made. My time to work on StarMade has dramatically decreased in these last 5 months, I should get a bit more time next month. I know when we're working on big updates, often times, there's no news to be said that hasn't already been said. I think we could fill it with other information, perhaps ideas we're having, twitch stream info shared in the week, past troubles and development info on previous updates. Doesn't always have to be dev info.

Now that Bench is back, we'll have more people to contribute to these posts.
