Do you think we should have the ability to make traveling shops? (shop block on ships)

Hello Maxstripe/Jango_Fett here with what in theory is an easy to implement idea.
back in the days of dock a station to a ship i made a traveling shop that people seemed to like and seeing as this was removed i was thinking why not give shop blocks permision to be placed on ships with full functionality as if it were on a station (just ya know ship board..) so traveling shops can become a reality

    Why?

Personally I think waste belching factory ships would be a lot more interesting, instead of some creepy traveling sales ship.

Why not? I assume some programming problem.

I guess it would allow for nifty mobile trading, but integrating with the new trading system might be an issue for the Devs.

I'm saying yes, but with limitations. Maybe ship shops would drop shields when bought from or sold to, but would also allow the owner to make the shop public, faction, or private. Like a transporter. This would make shopping from stations more safe, but quick trades would also be easily accessible.

And weigh a ton, have a small inventory, cost power maybe, ect.

I see very little loss for an interesting new mechanic. Rare find in the suggestions forum these days.

Wouldn't this allow ships to regen their own armour HP by spending some credits though?

Is this a problem with ships in general during normal combat? I'm not on any servers, but I'd highly doubt someone would throw money away just to survive a bit longer. But as I said, haven't been on servers much, so I wouldn't fully know.

Have you tried healing a station that way? Did it work?

Besides, unless they make it cheaper on the server it costs just so much that it's not worth it.

I imagine the repair function could be deactivated when installed on a ship. Or any other function that doesn't fit.

I cannot say that I'm up for this idea.

I think there should be an easier method for small individual trades other than throwing money/goods at another players feet but the idea of some kind of travelling shop isn't it I don't think.

I love the idea. I'd totally just build a small base that manufactured goods and go around with my trader ship and sell to people!

A big issue would be that it makes ships have unlimited cargo space. Your miner has a full inventory? just dump it all into your shopmodule and off you go.

So I suggest Ship-shops need to have cargospace available.

That is not how shops work any more. They use cargo capacity just like storages, factories, or anything else that holds blocks. (Actually, they can go over capacity, but they will stop functioning until more space is added.)

It's not like having cargo space has any use either than pretending you're a pointless freighter in a non existent player economy.
