because nothing says tyranid like tentacles and cute anime girls...wait that isn't correct...damn so I have been playing the wrong version of 40k all along...schist.
anyways this is the second tyranid ship on the dock/birthing tube as I am calling it now for tyranids. this is grown to fight alongside the ordinary tryopant as a synapse creature, providing a more direct like to the hivemind, and more up and personal tentacles.

p.s. any diseases that you may or may not contract are because you are very unhygienic, but mainly because its a f*ing tyranid, don't poke this thing at all. you will die.
