A 1:1 scale TIE Advanced x1, or TIE/x1 was an advanced prototype starfighter touted as a replacement for the standard TIE Fighter, tested by Darth Vader at the battle of Yavin. Speed was only slightly improved due to the added mass of the vessel. The added features to the vessel included: a deflector shield, cluster missile launcher, class 4.0 hyperdrive, a more sophisticated target tracking system, and twin heavy laser cannons. While less maneuverable than standard TIE fighters, it was more resilient in battle. The Empire decided not to order the TIE Advanced x1 in large quantities, citing their highly expensive cost. As a result, only the most elite Imperial pilots flew the TIE Advanced.
This ship is meant for role playing purposes and will not excel in non-role play combat. If a ship was not originally equipped with shields in the Star Wars universe, then none were added to it.
