This is a concept ship. I don't suggest using it. Doing so will probably crash a server if put to full use.
The Stick ship is a design idea for deploying a large force.
Right now I put 4 drones on it to show how they can be launched with one button click. The bobbi AI on the drones are not currently turned on didn't want to deal with retrieval. It does not need to be drones you use this for. A faction could do use the method to deploy a fleet rather than build a huge ship that may get shot to hell.
The idea is the ships that dock to it use power transfer to provide it power. It has some power storage the biggest thing it has is the ability to undock everything attached to it and the jump system. That is it. No drives, reactors shield or armor. So all that added weight isn't having to be compensated for.
The drones
When they dock start providing power.
When they undock they stop.
The drones stack and undock each other.
so when the bottom drone is undocked from the ship all the rest are as well.
You could use that on other ships as well saving on docking bays and launchers.
I didn't put armor on the drones figured people would want to see the guts and may want to put whatever version of armor on they want.
This single stick is only 100meters long you cold make any length even 1Km.
At 1 Km you can dock 200 ships in a length.
with just 1 layer of drones that would be 3x3-1 = 8;8x200=1600 drones.
2 layers would be 5x5-1=24; 24 x 200 = 4800 drones
3 layers ; 7x7-1=48; 48 x 200=9600 drones
4 layers; 9x9-1= 80; 80 x 200 = 16000 drones
That would be in a stick 45x45x1000 = 2,025,000 cubes total
If the servers could handle the load I doubt much out there could handle it. Most likely it will crash the servers. Not sure there is an upper limit of the drones that this could be used on beside memory constraints and such with the server and block limits.
To fly and steer simply inherit thrust form docked. they have apple thrust. Those 4 drones where enough to get me back to dock and maneuver to dock.
