    The Manticore class frigate was designed to place reliable fire on target while maintaining maximum distance from its target.

    Primarily used to take out space stations, planetary defense, or as needed soften up larger capital ships from range.

    Absolutely gorgeous looking ship, with decent firepower, but it seriously lacks in shielding. A meager 1 million shields on a 20K+ mass vessel is considered paper-thin for its weight class. Even with the ion, it can be easily oneshot by anything similar sized and decently built.
