The Mark 2 is here!
After receiving feedback from various customers, engineers revisited the RX51 and scratched their chins until they realized that the ship needed more power. And engine thrust. After prototyping, the final Mk 2 design called for more engines, more power, more elbow grease... and a whole lot more.
While the Mark 2 is a far, far more capable vessel than its forerunner, it does require a slightly greater number of resources to produce.
Features:
Redesigned interior
Old interior torn out and new one built. Now with all manner of informative screens and even a loveseat to bring along your besotten galactic travelling companions!
Shields
Now with shield subsystems with ~6500 s capacity capable of improving your survivability in space and buying you just enough time to use the next improvement...
Jumpdrive
Now with a 44-sec-charge jumpdrive with a -12K e/sec power draw, to keep hot for those narrow escapes.
Larger Engines (Now with a Thrust/Mass of ~1.5)
These new babies will give you all the zoom-zoom you need to cruise the spacelanes. Capable of reaching max speeds in seconds, these new engines will give you a whole new perspective on the world when the acceleration pancakes your skull against the headrest.

An aesthetic but relatively cheap, sturdy freighter for passenger or cargo hauling during the early game. CAUTION: Fragile when under fire. Also, the cockpit has been modified for ergonomics after the last test pilot complained that one button was one-too-many.
PROS:
+ A cockpit that puts you right into the action!
+ Cheap! All grey basic hull and some lights (Swap out the white for coolness)!
+ "Relatively" spacious cargo pod/bays
+ Eco-friendly engines!
+ Stock edition carries upwards of 12 passengers!
CONS:
- Unarmed, minus those battle-hardened marines you have in the passenger compartment
- Takes-me-awhile-to-reach-top-speed engines!
- Those dang cargo pods don't have doors!
