It is made of 8 docked entities with hull wedges and a docked shield injector (built really quickly, it lacks shield regeneration/capacity but it was good enough for my tests).
It works because of T494 missile damage on shield/armor HP breakthrough odd results (each time a missile explosion hit a shielded block, this block won't be destroyed and will block the explosion)
Basically, the hull plate is designed to have a lot of "small holes" in which incoming missiles might explode. Each of these holes are made of 8 wedges built on different docked entities with separate shields, hence, when they are hit by a missile explosion, the shields are depleted but the blocks aren't destroyed. Then, a shield injector replenishes the docked entities shield regularly to be ready for the next missile.
