Orion Co Porpoise - variant pack v1.0

The Porpoise line of ships are the smaller siblings of Orion Co's Dolphin ship model. Porpoise model ships are significantly smaller than than the Dolphin. Lighter, more compact, but packing the same engine design as it's larger cousin (including a jump drive!). Porpoise ships come with two USD-1 docking collars as a standard, but can also land planetside using their fixed landing gear. All Porpoise variants have the same door locks that prevent anyone from opening the doors while travelling - from the inside or outside. This key feature makes the Porpoise line of ships some of the safest in the universe.

Orion Co Porpoise MERCHANT

The Orion Co Porpoise MERCHANT is the most popular Porpoise variant. It is a dedicated mercantile and light freight ship, but it's standout feature is the door locking system that comes standard on all Porpoise ships. It is heavily armoured and features 3 anti-missile turrets. The MERCHANT posessses 60 fixed storage units in a simple sorting system, making it a fantastic light freighter. The extended docking collar is more heavily armoured than most other Porpoise variants, allowing for safer docking at stations as well as giving it extra protection from raiders.

Orion Co Porpoise TOUR

The Orion Co Porpoise TOUR is the people-mover variant of the base Porpoise model. It is primarily designed for guided tours, but can also function as a light public transport shuttle. It boasts 18 seats, all with great views thanks to the "window tube" design. Due to the nature of the TOUR's intended operations, it comes with no in-built weaponry or turrets. It instead relies on it's shields, acceleration, and warp drive to avoid aggressors.

Orion Co Porpoise ERU

The Orion Co Porpoise ERU (short for Emergency Response Unit) is a specialised ship that is often the first on the scene when a major incident occurs. It is primarily a first-aid vehicle, but can double as a recovery unit thanks to it's in-built tractor beam. It has 4 standard care beds, 1 intensive care bed built into an easy-access lift, and room for 8 other passengers. The easy-access lift drops down out of the bottom of the ship, allowing for a much easier loading of injured passengers on planet-side operations. Thanks to these features, the Porpoise ERU is a popular choice of ambulance vehicle for many groups.
