Honesty time. The reason to start small is to learn the detailing & shaping tools. This is very close to a "doom brick," a giant ship designed to wreck everything but be ugly. Nobody likes being killed by a brick, they like being killed by ships that look cool.
But if this is truly the first ship you've laid down a block on, that's pretty impressive.
