Multi-Tier-Rewards

    Multi-Tier-Rewards 0.0.3

Multi-tiered configurable rewards script for StarMade servers.
Based on rewardvotes.php by: Mike Sheen ([email protected]).

WARNING: This should probably *not* be used fully on a Vanilla server as it has the potential to horribly unbalance your game. That being said, I do not run Vanilla on my server: there are many changes to the economy, faction, thrust, and shield and power capacitance systems that make this tool much more useful, and apropos.

** Be careful with reward multipliers! **

    Highlights:
    • Increasing rewards for voting on consecutive days.
    • Multipliers/benefits for consecutive voting are lost if a day is missed.
    • Configurable reward tiers for a high degree of customization.
    • Creates vote-reward urgency.
    Current Configurable Rewards:
    • Credits
    • Faction Points
    • Blocks
    Planned Configurable Rewards:
    • Commands
    • Entities
    • ??

Looked it over some, enjoy the concept, but I wouldn't joining any larger servers. The only thing I would likely change is making it so that missing a day does not diminish or penalize.

Doing this in part to counteract those who apparently don't know how to read a mod's description. People are so infatuated with calling out Pay to Win that some are blind to what it really is. What this mod creates is, essentially, a Login Reward / Daily Participation Gift. There is nothing present showing any mention of requiring money to be paid in.
    Thank you for this

    Heya,

    Many thanks! :) <3
So the script itself is really an amazing tool; and I'm hyped to see this working with entities and commands! In the current state though I really don't like the meta-game that this implies. Very exploitable through and the vote system and basically incentivizes servers to use 'pay to win' tactics for popularity while not outright condoning it.

I'd like to see a version of this that encouraged text based actions for in-game events instead. Overall a good tool, I'll be playing with this one in the future for sure.

    Hi, :)

Firstly, thanks for the constructive comment.

I suppose it is my own fault for failing to point out that this should probably *not* be used, (fully,) in a Vanilla game as it has the potential to horribly unbalance your game.

That being said, I do not run Vanilla on my server: there are many changes to the economy, faction, thrust, and shield and power capacitance systems that make this tool much more useful, and apropos.

Definitely be careful with reward multipliers.

    Thanks for the rating! :)

Love the concept, I never use servers, but I still like the idea. I dont see how the other people thought this had to do with pay to win, but still, cool
    *Cough Cough*
Just play the game instead of supporting pay to win.

This has nothing to do with paying: this is a vote rewards script, the type of which many servers use-- even if they like to play elitists and not admit so in public.

Just move along if you don't like or appreciate someone's content or better yet, rate based on function and not your personal opinion of how servers should be run or what constitutes usefulness.
Buying votes is a sad thing and it causes a very skewed ranking system where the best servers aren't rated on their merit at providing a nice playing environment whilst at the same time putting the vote to win servers on the top of the list, I cannot stand by this resource and believe it to be a total waste of effort.
