MPC-4.5 Bronco Black Wave 2014-04-29

Black Wave is a private military contractor often seen operating in hot colonial sectors. Their contracts are about providing security to remote plants and convoys, serve as an auxiliary forces to the local colonial defenses or to avert pirate and bandit raids on outposts without sufficient defenses of their own.

Black Wave came to the colonial sectors equipped with quite modern Raptor C9 interceptors but as the company's presence grew longer, the remote distance caused shortage of supplies to keep their Raptors in competent condition.

Raptors were slowly replaced by common MPC-4.5 Broncos refitted to meet company's standards. With limited access to parts, Black Wave's engineers managed to modify Bronco Star to sturdy, reliable and relatively menacing craft although weaker in all stats when compared to the few operational Raptors.

Black Wave's configuration contains well protected, fully enclosed cockpit with comunications and sensor arrays covered in reinforced front plate. The craft is also equipped with heavier armament with barrels on the tips of the wings. Shield arrays have been upgraded to withstand light fire for longer period before they fall off. Energy generators are now more powerful to keep energy flow. Only the engine unit remains stock, as it was considered to be effective enough.

This ship is predominantly used to cause panic and fear in minds of lesser or potential criminals (majority of sane persons will think twice about robbing that transport when they see armored Black Wave Bronco escort) although there are more organized criminal groups which are not affraid to engage in combat.
