This is the salvager that you spawn a bunch of to salvage overheating ships, or planets, etc. These can be easily fit into carriers, if docking modules are added, though I keep them outside for easy access to overheating ships. Don't underestimate its salvage power because of it's size, it packs a punch to those planets or overheating ships, you might be surprised.
