The MF-3 is a guided "missile" frigate - specifically designed to decimate armor and punch through to the systems beneath. Its main weapons are powerful enough to destroy a corvette with one shot, with a proper angle, and its secondaries, while less powerful, are much faster to recharge. Our engineers had to come up with a completely new power system to accommodate these massive weapons, using extreme amounts of energy in a single shot. Such came the invention of a vented antimatter core, disposing of the excess heat through special heat-resistant vents near the engine exhaust ports. This allowed much larger capacitors to be filled by reducing the temperature of the banks.
The MF-3 has a normal crew complement of 6, and is fully furnished for their needs. While it is also a window-less vessel, it is very compact and solid compared to most ships of its size.
Unfortunately, both the greedy power systems, large thrust requirements and larger capacitor banks mean that the MF-3 has a lower shield capacity than most comparable vessels. This is partly negated by the addition of auxiliary ion buffers, boosting the shields' strength to 143%, but this consumes power, and may destabilize the weapons systems.
We hope you'll enjoy this vessel, and eventually add it to your lineup. Until then, best of luck from the staff at Bephinius-Per Yards.
