LRD-II (High accuracy long-range enemy detector)

    LRD-II (High accuracy long-range enemy detector) 2015-06-25

The LRD-II is a long-range enemy detection unit, which utilizes a moving turret to detect any enemies up to 5Km away (Or whatever the range of a missile/beam turret is on your server).

The LRD-II has good detection, as spinning it is constantly forcing the turret to re-aim if there is an enemy nearby, causing it to trigger the sensors inside.

This is best used when spinning as it makes it very sensitive to enemies, but if you get rid of the spinning, then it gets a bit interesting. The detector can also be used to get a rough estimate of the enemies direction from your ship, and can then be used to automatize some features of your ship.

Say 'What if you had blind spots on the sides of your ship?'
the detector can detect an enemies position, and if they are at your sides, it could automatically use logic to trigger a defensive push effect, propelling yourself out of danger.
(If anyone wants the stationary version let me know, and I'll make it)

    Setting it up:

The LRD-II has to rotate in two axis:

The blueprint already comes with one axis, but you will have to create the second attached to the parent ship. There is an exposed button where the cylinder attaches o the white arm, which you can press to activate the spin.

At the bottom of the cylinder there is a blast door:

Enter in here, and you will find two things,

    1. the wireless module which you will use to link the output signal back to your ship

    2. In the center where there is a ramp, there is another blastdoor above leading to the turret chamber. if needed, the turret can be activated/deactivated here (It should start activated).

Awesome, I have this attached to my station, and it does not even have any logic attached to it.
I do enjoy that you have made a truly impressive tracking system that would allow for war cruisers like mine to be a formidable force! 10/10
Amazing, OVER 9000/10, would radar again
