Check out Saber's review.... don't worry about the mess, it's all fixed now lol
The Knuckle Head class "Longship" is a fast, lightly armed and armored light freighter and transport favored among the Outlanders.
This was the very first "in-house" design released by the Outlands Sectors Shipyards, and for years was their primary product. Even after the loss of the majority of their infrastructure, countless examples of this ship exist.
Due to it's size, it has fully retractable landing gear and an access ramp:
Now that it has been exposed to the rest of the galaxy, there IS one glaring deficiency: shields. Outlanders were slow to develop particle shield technology, so their systems are rather weak and vulnerable due to their tell-tale placement inside translucent "ribs". Due to their shields being based in the E/M range, they also utilize what they call a "shield pulser" which ramps up their output signal, blocking their signal from sensors. Be warned, however, that this system is very power hungry, and is only sustainable while thrust and weapons use are halted. As is typical for Outland ships, it holds a 25% piercing and punch through passive array, a 50% overdrive, and an old but reliable FTL drive.
This particular vessel is a "stock" cargo runner. It comes with it's cargo truck and a detachable cargo pod. There is a hookup for a mining laser on the cargo pod, as well as a hookup for an aftermarket "plasma lance" but these systems themselves are sadly not present.
For more info, please take a look at my thread in the shipyards: Barely designed and mostly just pretty!
