Called in sick one day from work, then it hit me! We need bigger better Pirate ships! So in a fever soaked delirium I went to work, hashing out an idea on paper to bring to life some monster-piece that turned out nothing like I had envisioned. In the end, with frequent trips to the toilet, I just went and applied the tried and true method of 'tossing-it' together. I plopped down a standard Type-Zero Isanth and studied it for long moments before popping down a core of my own to attempt to capture the gentle shape of the thing in my own envisioning. Slowly working out from the inside, I eventually found myself curving out the wing tips, then detailing the weapons ports. Working back around to the inside, outside, back, forth. Eventually it got down to installing shields. How many should I have I asked? Well obviously I needed more then 4, the standard for Isanth tech. So, went with 100 for an almost rounded 10k shields and even tossed in 100 rechargers for the gentle 550 /s. At long last, it came down to weapons.. After working through and getting a process of pumping out the different models, I came across the Missile with the beam sub computer. It didn't work! Not enough juice for the blasted thing. That made me a bit mad, didn't last long though.. Had to make another run to the bathroom! XD
So with a bit of fiddling, finally got the thing to fire at least a few missiles at a time before going back over each of the previous designs to implement the changes to the core of the ship layout. Eventually I was happy with all my work, each saved neatly into the blueprints section of my game-save. I promptly took my ships to weapon testing against a small 'Terran' planet, shooting the piss out of it before noticing that the Missle/Pulse took out half the freaking surface area of the small dodecahedron. So, hope you enjoy abusing these new Pirates unless they end up abusing you a bit too much. Check out the Vid included!
